Description:
The Central Intake Bureau (CIB) operates with approximately 255 sworn and civilian staff. They process an estimated 40,000 arrests annually from all Broward County law enforcement agencies. Arrests are processed at one remote booking site located in the City of Pompano Beach and the main booking facility which is housed within BSO's Main Jail Bureau in downtown Fort Lauderdale. In addition to processing arrests, the CIB is responsible for pre-magistrate holding, court activities, confinement status, releasing, hospital details, and transportation of inmates. Further, the CIB is the transfer and pickup location for inter-facility transfers, custody transfers and custody releases to the state prison system, U.S. Marshalls, other governmental agencies and court-ordered programs.
